The ninth workshop in the 2019 series of comprehensive training workshops is being offered by Volunteer Wellington in partnership with Multicultural New Zealand and Victoria University of Wellington to develop skills for leaders working in the voluntary sector.
As New Zealand continues to become more culturally, ethnically, linguistically and religiously diverse, the need for cultural competency skills is more important than ever.
This one-day workshop developed by the Applied Cross-Cultural Research Centre, aims to develop participants’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes to work effectively with people from different cultures, including their work colleagues, volunteers and clients.
At this training you will:
- Test out and extend your cultural competency
- Recognise your own cultural lens
- Learn how to apply it in everyday life.
Date: Monday 23 September 2019
Time: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Venue: St Johns in the City, Cnr Willis and Dixon St
