Mokopuna plaque ceremony at Waitangi Treaty Grounds on Sunday, 1 May 2022. Mokopuna is the kauri tree planted at Waitangi Treaty Grounds as part of Multicultural New Zealand Hikoi in April 2021.

Multicultural New Zealand executive members traveled to Waitangi Treaty Grounds for the event: Pancha Narayanan, Marion Kerepeti-Edwards, Prem Singh, and Archna Tandon. Supt Rakesh Naidoo, UNESCO Commissioner Vanisa Dhiru and Dinesh Khadka joined them.    

Welcome by Mukai Hura (speaker), Rehua Selwyn (Kai karakia), Awatea Stensness (kaikaranga), Tane Bell (Waiata Tautoko), Owen Taituha (Cultural experience manager) of Waitangi National Trust.
